From August 29, 2023, the passage to the Hahn’s steps connecting the lower and upper promenades is temporarily closed.

The Department of Development and Economy of the City of Narva informs that due to the construction work on the reconstruction of the Hahn’s steps from August 29 and approximately until December 31, 2023, the passage to the stairs connecting the upper and lower promenades will be temporarily closed. After the completion of construction work, the staircase will be open to the public again.

The Department of Development and Economics of the City of Narva reminds that it is dangerous and prohibited to stay at the construction site.

Construction work is carried out by Vant AS, owner supervision is Infragate Eesti AS.

Construction work is being carried out as part of the “Reconstruction of the Hahn’s steps, Step by Step” project. The main goal of the project is to increase the attractiveness of cultural and historical heritage sites in the border area for both visitors and businesses, in accordance with the general concept for the development of the historical area along the Narva River.

The following activities are also planned within the framework of the project: a seminar for entrepreneurs and dissemination of information related to the reconstruction of the stairs.

The project “Reconstruction of the Hahn’s steps, step by step” is being implemented with the help of the Estonian EU external border program 2014-2020 under the European Neighborhood Instrument and co-financed by the European Union. The project budget is 400,000 euros, self-financed by the city of Narva – 100,000 euros, program support – 300,000 euros. The project is being implemented from July 1 to December 31, 2023.
